For all registrants:

What is the registration fee? The $10 fee offsets the administrative time to onboard families into our system and to help offset costs of online registration features.

Refunds are not available after the first class, except in extreme circumstances (to the discretion of the director)

Payment Plans are now available online at time of registration: Simply choose the option at checkout. You'll pay a $50 deposit. The remaining balance will then be charged in three or four installments (your choice), charged to your card on the fifth of each month (and at least 10 days after original registration deposit is paid--this prevents the monthly payment occuring right after the deposit was paid).

POLICIES and HOW WE ROLL

1. It is more important than ever to observe our rule for sick children/adults. Here are some guidelines to help you make the right decision:

  •  If you or your child shows ANY signs of illness, keep them home. (a few of those signs might be: frequent coughing or coughing spells, repeated sneezing, fever over 99.5, headache, acting sick)
  • If you or your child live with someone (or has been in close contact with someone) who currently has COVID, please stay home.
  • If you have been diagnosed with (tested positive or believe you have) COVID, please follow all CDC recommendations as you plan your return to class.

2. If you or anyone in your household is diagnosed with COVID, or you believe your symptoms are consistent with COVID, please let us know if you were in class 48 hours prior to testing positive so we can communicate this with our families. You will remain anonymous, but this will be helpful in preventing any spread of the illness throughout our class.

3. We sanitize mouthed instruments/props after class with hospital-grade disinfectant.

4. Our teaching staff is fully vaccinated and boosted for Covid. For the safety of our community, we are strongly urge all adults to be vaccinated. We are using the honor system.

5.  Mask-wearing is optional. If area infection rates soar during the course of our semester, we reserve the right to require masks. Remember, our situation is different than most other group gatherings:  We are singing. (If you are unfamiliar, please take a moment to read-up about how unmasked singing generates aerosols in the room). We do not anticipate the need for this, but if numbers spike such that public health officials are urging us to stay home, we will move classes online or outdoors in compliance with recommendations.

6. Note: Music Matters may take photographs and video recordings of your child or you, or both of you together, and use them in printed or electronic formats for advertising and educational purposes. Please notify your teacher if you wish not to have your child’s image used on our website or print advertising.

7. HAVE FUN! This is required :-) Let’s enjoy this time together, making music, dancing, playing, bonding. Let your worries fly away for a moment and pretend no one is watching!

-----------------------------

Make-ups, Cancelled Classes, Refunds:

  • Make-ups: You are allowed unlimited make-ups each semester. We've made room for two families to use any class meeting as their makeup.
  • If we must cancel a class, we will add a week to the semester. If we must cancel more than one class (this has only happened in the most extreme weather situations), it is likely that we will ask families to makeup the missed week via our Makeup Scheduler. In all cases, we will do what we can to offer opportunities for your family to get a full, semester's worth of clases.
  • We are reluctant to issue refunds prior to Week 4. Children need time to adjust to our routines. It is unfair to pull them out of class before they have acclimated to the music, their classmates, and to trust that we are not asking anything of them during class.

----------------------------

During all types of Music Together Classes, always:

1. Minimize talking. We hope you make social connections in class! But we ask you to talk and socialize before and after class. Give your child and everyone in our group a special chance to be musically focused for an entire 45 minutes.

2. Fully participate! You are the primary role model for your child - and all of the children in class. If you commit to singing, dancing and playing your children will learn that making music is fun!

3. Set phones to vibrate and keep them in your bag. You and your child will look forward to this window each week when you are focused on each other and free of devices.

4. Give snacks before class. No food or coffee in the studio. Breastfeeding and bottles are always OK!

5. Minimize photography/video: We allow for occasional photography/filming of your child. However most of our class time needs to be focused on music-making and your child. Please keep it from being a distraction from class.

At home:

  • Listen to your recording! Repeat! Enjoy the activities in your songbooks and ideas from your teacher.
  • Start a musical ritual: Sing a lullaby, dance, beat on some pots and pans! Make up new lyrics to our songs!
