Sarah Morris became a registered Music Together teacher in November of 2013. While her general background is in dance and theater, she is a certified Dance Educator and also received a degree in cognitive psychology from OSU. She worked as a substitute teacher for a number of years in the Columbus Public School system and taught after-school dance and yoga classes at Indianola Informal K-8 for over 6 years. Since attending the weekly classes as a new mom with her first daughter back in 2010, the Music Together philosophy has been a crucial centerpiece of her family's life. Music Together continues to open new pathways into the way she views and understands the inter-connectedness of movement, music, and child development as a whole. She continues to attend classes as a mom with her twin daughters, starting the Music Together journey all over again!

There was never a time when music wasn’t a huge part of Alyssa’s life. Growing up in Southern California with two musician parents, she sang and danced around the house for the first few years of her life and began studying the piano with her dad at five. She later picked up the violin too and played in youth orchestras around town. After majoring in Piano Performance at Mills College, she decided she wanted to teach music as a career. She received her Master’s in Music Education with an Emphasis in Kodaly Pedagogy and taught music in elementary schools in California and Austin, TX for 14 years.

Alyssa has one daughter, and it was with her that she discovered Music Together. Alyssa fell in love with the program, and it has been a central part of her family’s life ever since. She taught Music Together for 7 years before moving to Columbus, and during that time received her Certification 1.
